As a supplement to the “Full Throttle Fan” season ticket campaign, Beyondigital conceived an extraordinary contest where hundreds of race fans went to a specialty microsite on TexasMotorSpeedway.com to submit their own personal profile and elaborate on what makes them the MOST full throttle fan. The stakes were high with the grand prize being the experience of a lifetime — hang-time with the drivers, an elaborate live stage introduction to 250,000 fans, tickets for life, and helicopter transportation to the event. The winner even received a commemorative plaque permanently affixed near the main gate. After a variation of e-mail blasts, newsprint ads, and radio and television spots during the Daytona 500 race, this microsite received more traffic from Full Throttle Fans who were browsing and submitting profiles than any other interactive campaign in TMS history.
